Apexogenesis is a dental procedure that is performed to encourage the continued development and maturation of the apex (the tip of the tooth's root) in a young, developing tooth. This procedure is typically used in cases where the pulp of a tooth (the innermost part containing nerves and blood vessels) has been damaged or exposed due to trauma or deep decay, but the tooth's root is not yet fully formed.
